Booking terms
The short version: a vetted gentleman accompanies you in public places, you pay by the hour, you can drink but not get drunk, and either of you can end a booking that does not feel right.

What the service is
Gentleman Abroad is a hospitality and concierge service operated by Abroad Hospitality Kft. Your gentleman is a vetted local host who accompanies you in public places, helps you get around, translates, carries, recommends and makes bookings on your behalf.
It is not a security service. The Gentleman service makes no promise of physical protection. Where licensed close protection is requested, it is provided by a separately licensed security partner under its own terms, which we will send you before booking.
Bookings and payment
A booking is confirmed when we have sent you written confirmation and you have accepted it. Nothing is charged until then. Payment is taken by card. The hourly rate is €45 with a three-hour minimum unless a package states otherwise. Companion travel costs on public transport are included; venue entry, food, drink, car upgrades and partner experiences are not.
Changes and cancellation
You may change or cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the booking starts. Within 24 hours, half the booked amount is charged. If you do not appear at the meeting point within 30 minutes of the agreed time and we cannot reach you, the full amount is charged.
Public places only
Every booking begins and ends in a public place such as a hotel lobby, a station or a street. Your gentleman will not enter your room, apartment or any private residence at any time, including when handing you into the care of hotel staff.
Alcohol
You are welcome to drink during a booking. Your gentleman will continue to accompany you while you are tipsy, in good humour and able to walk, converse and make your own decisions. The service is not suitable for pub crawls or drinking with the aim of becoming intoxicated, and your gentleman may decline to enter a further venue or to order further drinks where he reasonably judges that continuing would lead to incapacity.
Drugs
The possession, purchase or use of illegal drugs in the presence of your gentleman, or any request that he source, carry or facilitate them, ends the booking immediately without refund. We may decline future bookings.
If you become incapacitated
Incapacitated means unable to walk unassisted, vomiting, unresponsive or unable to communicate clearly as a result of alcohol or any other substance. Your gentleman’s first duty is to get you to safety. He will take you, by taxi if required, to your accommodation and hand you into the care of reception, a travelling companion or, where he judges it necessary, emergency services, and he may contact your emergency contact.
Once you have been handed into safe care the booking ends and the remaining time is forfeited. An incapacity fee of €200 plus any direct costs such as taxi, cleaning or damage to clothing is charged to the card on file. The fee is waived where you were drugged or became ill for reasons unrelated to drinking.
Ending a booking early
Your gentleman may end a booking early without refund where a client is abusive, makes sexual advances, asks him to break the law, repeatedly ignores reasonable safety advice or behaves in a way that puts either of you at risk. Our duty manager is informed in every case. Equally, if you are ever uncomfortable with your gentleman, message the duty manager and we will end the booking and refund the unused time in full.
Your gentleman’s conduct
Every gentleman signs a code of conduct. No romantic or sexual contact, no exchange of personal numbers, no alcohol beyond a single drink at your request, no handling of your cash or cards, no photographs of you without consent, and no posting about clients. Breaches lead to immediate dismissal. Please tell us if you see any of this.
Liability
We take care in selecting and training our gentlemen and we carry public liability and professional indemnity insurance. We are not liable for loss arising from events outside our reasonable control, from your own decisions to leave your gentleman’s company, or from third-party venues and partner experiences, which operate under their own terms. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Hungarian law.
Law and company
These terms are governed by the law of Hungary. Abroad Hospitality Kft., trading as Gentleman Abroad, Budapest, Hungary. Company registration details will appear here once registration is complete.
